Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Must pass pre-employment examination.
Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.

Must be proficient in written and spoken English DUTIES:
Tour of Duty: Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with on-call duties required (evenings/weekends), as necessary.
The Primary Care Physician will practice high-flow primary care in a patient-friendly environment. The selectee must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of patient management, including charting, progress notes, signatures, preparation of consults, referrals, and telephone consults with sp! ecialists at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center that are an integral part of the clinical team. The physician will integrate both mandated health screening and guidelines for treatment into their practice. The selectee will have basic proficiency with a computer and willingness to learn the VA electronic medical record system. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREM ENTS:
Citizenship : U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
Education : Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
Licensure and Registration : Current, full, and unrestricted licensure to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
First Year Residency (internship): Completed a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approv! ed by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was co! mpleted
English Language Proficiency: Physicians appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in written and spoken English
