Overview:
Provide excellent customer service and assist the patient care team ! by providing nursing/medical assistance. Provide operational a! ssistance, ensuring and coordinating the intake and rooming of patients, effectively managing the patient visit cycle time.

Responsibilities:
Welcome the patient/family and respond to questions; inform patients, staff and providers of delays; approach dissatisfied customers and implement customer service recovery measures; collaborate with others to develop quality service-focused measures to identify clinic issues; track prolonged wait times for patients and investigate cause; obtain translation services as needed. Observe and enforce guidelines for infection control; clean toys. Take and record vital signs, height, weight, allergy status, current immunizations, medications (prescription, over the counter and herbal), past procedures, pain, chief complaint and point-of-care testing; identify and report abnormal vital signs; use the clinic's patient tracking system to notify and update staff of patient's location, time placed in room, and time appointmen! t scheduled. Transport patient specimens or utilize the P-tube for transport. Inspect and oversee equipment readiness, corrective action and follow-up (daily calibrations, point-of-care testing quality control/check, equipment temperature checks and equipment preventative maintenance schedule). Document telephone or refill messages and notify provider to take action. Assist in the exam room with procedures and paperwork. Assist in patient flow and scheduling for the clinic.

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of development stages in pediatric patients, nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks, the managed care industry, related medical terminology, customer service concepts and basic clinic/patient care. Ability to: operate a personal computer and office equipment; demonstrate interpersonal skills, good verbal communication skills, good time management skills and provide excellent customer service skills. Quick decision making and self-initiated work be! haviors are necessary. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.

! Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant program or related experience required. Minimum of one (1) year related experience preferred. Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service focused industry preferred. Outpatient clinic operations experience preferred. Completion of certification encouraged within a year of hire.
