Position Summary
The Certified Coder is responsible for the safe and accurate coding of Diagnostic, Emergency Room Records including all Observati! on, Outpatient Surgery/Endoscopy, Inpatient, and Hospice Records. Includes abstracting predefined fields and coding DRG Worksheets; also codes and abstracts on-line Horizon Patient Folder records. This individual must also provide all of their customers and other hospital staff with excellent customer service.

Position Qualifications
Minimum Education High School Diploma/equivalent
Minimum Experience 2+ years experience in ICD9/CPT coding in Hospital Health Information Management Department, preferred.
Required Certification Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)/Certified Coding Associate (CCA)/RHIT/RHIA
Required Licensure N/A
Skills This individual will need to have basic computer skills and must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
