Facility Description : HHSS is located in the Museum District on the outskirts of the Medical Center of Houston, Texas. We have an exceptional opportunity for a full-time experienced Surgery Services Manager who will support daily operations of our growing surgical hospital.

Duties of Position :
Establishes, implements and evaluates quality and standard of patient care in conjunction with Medical Staff, Administrator and Chief Nursing Officer. Oversees development of patient care protocols, perioperative assessment procedures, nursing policies and procedures, physician standing orders and standard discharge instructions. Achieves quality patient care by utilizing ongoing process improvement and infection control evaluation methods such as review of the medical record, analysis of medication errors and patient injuries and review of infection control issues and patient satisfaction questionnaires. Participates in patient care ac! tivities and adheres to requirements of Registered Nurse job d! escription when providing direct patient care. Achieves quality patient care by utilizing ongoing process improvement and infection control evaluation methods such as review of the medical record, analysis of medication errors and patient injuries and review of infection control issues and patient satisfaction questionnaires. Maintains active professional relationships with doctors and patients by assessing needs and levels of satisfaction. Demonstrates a positive, friendly and courteous manner. Identifies, measures, documents or reviews problems inefficiencies or deficiencies. Ability to effectively manage multiple nursing departments. Performs individual nursing staff performance appraisals as required by policy. Maintains accurate nursing employee files and achieves positive working environment.

  • Schedules qualified nursing staff to provide required coverage for patient care and adheres to State, Federal and JCAHO guidelines. Evaluates and makes recommendatio! ns regarding purchase of equipment. Ensures adequate supply of sterile supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available and within budgetary constraints.
Complies with State Rules and Regulation, Health Care Financing Administration and Joint Commission Healthcare Regulations for Hospitals and assures staff competency. · Maintains nursing areas in safe condition as indicated by cleared hallways, secured electrical wiring, and reporting and isolation of broken equipment promptly. Adheres to all facility safety regulation and guidelines regarding patient safety.

Specialty experience required? Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing. Current Texas Registered Nurse license required. Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support Course; ACLS; PALS (o! r obtain within 90 days of employment) and CNOR certification is prefer! red. A Bachelor of Science in nursing is preferred.
At least five years of clinical experience, two of which were in nursing administration/OR management within last five years. Experience as registered nurse in Operating Room. Must have the ability to manage multiple clinical areas and operations.
