VA North Texas, Dallas VA Medical Center is recruiting for a full time
staff physician for an active Community Living Center Unit which treats
patients within the 47 bed rehabilitation unit! . This position treats Veterans
on the CLC A neighborhood and requires excellent customer service skills,
extensive skills in treating Geriatric residents and experience working with
special populations. In addition to the skills of a general physician, this
individual must be willing to acquire the additional knowledge base and set of
skills necessary to work within our long term care program.

Tour of Duty: Mon-Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., alternative work schedule is not available.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is
not possible to recruit qualified citizens)

  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting
from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or
surgery in a State, Territory, or Commo! nwealth of the United States, or in the
District of Columbia.
  • Must be
board certified or eligible.

Preferred

Experience :
1.
Background in Internal Medicine and/or Geriatrics.
2. Board
certification in Geriatrics.
3.
Experience and/or interest in Geriatrics.

! EDUCATION:
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree
resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The
degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the
Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was

completed. Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding
regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical
Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.

(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine
approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the
degree was granted.

(3) Schools (including foreign
schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth
(i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or
unrestricted licensure.

FOREIGN EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
To receive credit for ! education
completed outside the United States, you must show proof ! that the education has
been submitted to a private organization that specialized in interpretation of
foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least
equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
