WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Other tours may be required. Must be able to take call overnight and on weekends.

DUTIES:
The Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care Line at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time physician with training and experience in Nuclear Medicine with emphasis on general and Cardiac Nuclear Medicine (including stress testing), PET/CT and related procedures. PET/CT fellowship training is highly desirable. The Nuclear Medicine department is equipped with one PET/CT scanner, six Nuclear Medicine cameras (2 SPECT/CT, 2 Dual Head Cameras, 1 Triple Head Camera and 1 Solid State camera), and two BMDs. The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine as wel! l as the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Candid! ates should be academically oriented and will have an excellent opportunity to collaborate with multiple disciplines in patient care, education and clinical research. The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty position with Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and will have the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary patient care, education and clinical research. Faculty rank determination is by Baylor College of Medicine and is commensurate with credentials and prior experience.
The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Candidates should be academically oriented and will have an opportunity to participate in education, clinical research and multidisciplinary patient care. The successful candidate will assume a faculty position with the Department of Radiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Professional Standards Board will b! e conducted to determine salary based on education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Basic Requirements:
1) Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
2) A current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The requirements for Grade are outlined in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G2.
3) Preferred: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nuclear Medicine.
