The Operating Room Scrub Technician working in accordance with established procedures, wo! rks as part of a team to set-up Operating Rooms, assist Surgeons in major surgical services and on complex surgical procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, etc. May handle medications in accordance with responsibilities.

Qualifications High School Diploma
Certification/Registration Requirements:
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist); or,
- TIS (Tech in Surgery â€" Certified (NCCT)); or
- Proof of surgical technology training in the military; or
- Proof that the individual currently works for the federal government performing surgical
- Provides proof the tech was employed as a surgical technologist in a hospital or ambulatory surgical setting prior to September 1, 2009
- New Grads will have 180 days from date of hire to obtain certification
