Qualifications/Duties
Full Time: 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm
Minimum Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or G.E.D.
Accredited Technical Surgical Tech School
Minimum Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
Current CPR certification
Minimum Experience Requirements:
None required
1 yr previous experience preferred
Minimum Skill Requirements;
Exemplary customer service
Basic surgical procedure knowledge,
Ability to lift and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets and up and scrubs Labor & Delivery surgica! l procedures.
- Demonstrates surgical conscience and st! erile technique while gowning, gloving, draping the sterile field, and handling of sterile items.
- Constant awareness of surroundings and vigilance to any breaks in sterile technique by any member of the surgical team.
- Maintains and supplies all necessary instrumentation, supplies, and suture.
- Anticipates needs for additional less frequently-used instrumentation and supplies.
- Participates proactively in patient safety measures such as verification of patient and procedure by implementing âtime outâ prior to incision.
- Consistently performs surgical counts, and repeats aloud together with circulator at all points during surgery as designated by policy/procedure.
- Reports any discrepancy immediately, and reports any surgical complication.
- Utilizes and documents all sterilization processes correctly to assure complete quality monitoring.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
