This is a great opportunity at a leading children's hospital in the Southwestern U.S. for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Neurology, responsible for providing direct care of pediatric patients in the neurosurgery inpatient services setting. The PNP or PA in Neurology will manage (in collaboration with the attending) the entire inpatient course. Duties of this PNP or PA in Neurology include obtaining admission histories, performing physical examinations, ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests, creating plans of care and the day-to-day management of the neurology patient. Managing these complex patients requires collaboration with department physicians and other members of the health care team to ensure the highest quality of neurological care is provided. This position is open to Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PA-Cs).

Qualifications:
MSN or graduate of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health educational programs, required; current RN license (or eligible) in the State of Texas, required; recognition as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (or eligible) by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners, or Physician Assistant (PA-C) licensed in the State of Texas, required; current CPR/BLS and PALS certifications, required; previous pediatric neurosurgery/critical care experience, preferred.
