SURGICAL ONCOLOGIST
ACADEMIC RANK:
ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR GUARANTEED SALARY WITH BONUS POTENTIAL AND EXCELLENT BENEFITS INCLUDING MALPRACTICE INSURANCE. The Division of Surgical Oncology/H&N Surgery of the TTUHSC-Amarillo campus seeks a BC/BE General Surgeon with Surgical Oncology Fellowship, at the academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Experience and/or interest in H&N cancer management is desirable. The Division is made up of Fellowship-trained surgeons in Thoracic Surgical Oncology and Breast Surgical Oncology, with a departing Surgical Oncologist leaving a robust practice. Patient care will include two adjacent hospitals and the Amarillo VA medical center. Instruction of third and fourth year medical students is priority, with Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents (no Surgical residents on campus). The candidate will continue a broad spectrum of cancer care including GI, melanoma and endocrine. Basic Science Research support is available in collaboration with faculty of the School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy. Based upon one’s interests, other facets of Surgical Oncology can be pursued. The University Physicians of Texas Tech Amarillo serve an area of the High Plains with draw from rural areas, with excellent complement and support by Faculty in General and Trauma Surgery, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Obstetrics-Gynecology. Amarillo boasts a low cost of living, low unemployment rate, true Western hospitality, and four distinct seasons. Winter sports are a three hour drive away, a 55-minute flight takes you to Dallas and equal access to either coast.
