Job Description
Position responsible for preparing patients and the environment prior to surgery for the medical a nd nursing team.Hours: Mon- Fri 7:30am-4pm
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and read and write English.
- Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Assists with physical preparation of patient and physical environment prior to surgery according to the age/needs of the patient/population served; transports and transfers patients as necessary.
- Functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion
- Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and accuracy of practice.
- Promotes individual professional gr owth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
