Medical Office Assistant- Bilingual- PRN Float Team, Houston TX

Provides care and compassionate direct c! are in a clinic setting under the direction of a physician. Assists medical providers, and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with the practice policies and procedure. Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, BP, patient history, medication listing, assessing visual acuity, and determining chief complaint. Prepares equipment and assists physicians with medical treatments, exams, and medical procedures. Administers prescribed medications, and gives intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. Complete necessary documentation using Electronic Medical Records. Assist with auditing, billing, and coding as requested. Calls appropriate insurance to pre-certify surgeries, or tests ordered by the physician or other health care provider.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited CMA program preferred.

Two years of medical office experience, front end and back end.

Phlebotomy training.
Knowledgeable in coding, billing, and medical back office pr! ocedures.

Front office experience in MS Office Suite, and Electronic Medical Records (Next Gen is a plus), handles phone lines, collect, and post payments.

Great communicator able to deal tactfully and professionally with patients, families, staff, and physicians.

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
