CentralCare, Inc. is seeking full time, part time and per diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) to perform services in support of a Departmen! t of Defense/Veterans Affairs joint venture between William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and the El Paso Veterans Affairs Healthcare Services (EPVAHCS) located at 5005 North Piedras Street in El Paso, TX, jointly known as the Joint Endoscopy Surgical Center. CRNA shall have sufficient education and experience to perform the tasks and procedures listed. The quality of CRNA practice shall meet or exceed reasonable standards of professional practice for the health care concerned as determined by the same authority that governs military medical professionals in the same discipline. The CRNA shall: Provide pre-operative evaluations and preparation of the patient. Provide regional anesthesia to include spinal, epidural, bier block, axillary block, inter-scalen block, and other regional blocks. Provide general anesthetics. Provide monitoring of patient reactions to anesthesia and surgery, to include managing fluid therapy and shall respond to patient responses with appropr! iate anesthesia care. Provide pain intervention care or respon! d to emergency situations in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit as needed. Provide post-operative evaluations of the patients. Check anesthesia equipment for function before proceeding with an anesthetic; provide limited end-user maintenance of anesthesia equipment; and ensure cleanliness of anesthesia equipment. Consult with an anesthesiologist or attending physician regarding patient situations of adverse reactions necessitating non-delegated medical decisions and taking appropriate actions as directed or required. Respond to cardiopulmonary resuscitation calls, trauma calls in the ER, and intubation requests in the ICU or ER. Complete all required documentation utilizing facility information systems as required and shall place his/her name stamp on all forms and documentation requiring his/her signature. Serve as adjunct clinical instructors/faculty members in the Phase II United States Army Nurse Anesthesia Program. Participate in the Anesthesia Service Quality Improvement P! rogram as time and workload permit. Respect and maintain the basic rights of patients, demonstrating concern for personal dignity and human relationships. Complete all MTF training and education prior to the first scheduled duty day, and participate in quarterly and annual training. CRNA providing services shall meet the following: Be a graduate of an accredited Master or Doctorate of Science in Nursing â" Anesthesia Program. Possess current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA). Possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a licensed registered nurse and as an advanced practice nurse in one of the fifty united states, the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and must maintain said license in good standing. Possess a minimum of one yearâs experience actively practicing as a full-time certified registered nurse anesthetist during the! last year which enables him/her to perform assigned duties Have and ma! intain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Such certification must be from the American Heart Association and state that it is specifically for âhealthcare providersâ.
