Our busy Colon/Rectal Surgery Clinic in SE is seeking a PA who can:
- Perform patient histories and physical exams
- Conduct pre-operative assessment using diagnostic procedures, such as digital rectal examination, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, anoscopy, endo-rectal ultrasound and anal manometry
- Exhibit autonomy in the operating room when required
- Perform first assistant duties with complete knowledge of the disease process and whole patient care scenario
- Manage post-operative patient care until discharge
- Enable continuity of care by managing patient care in pre-, intra- and post-operat! ive settings
- Has extensive knowledge of the pharmacol! ogic effects of drugs specific to the colon and rectum
- Understand surgical anatomy, including but not limited to the neurovascular anatomy
- Perform duties of a primary care PA
- Manages other disease entities frequently encountered in the CRS population per AASPA.
1. Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program.
2. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Inc; Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners.
3. Certified in Basic and Advanced Life Support.
4. At least 2 years experience in general adult medicine.
5.
