The expert practice of the GYN Specialty Coordinator is essential in ensuring safe patient outcomes, completion of the daily operating room schedule, and physician/ employee sa! tisfaction. Responsibilities of Specialty Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following as related to the surgical specialty: Maintains expert knowledge of service specialty (procedures, equipment, supplies, surgeon preference).Establishes / Maintains direct, collaborative, working relationship with Specialty Surgeons.Provides new hire orientation to service specialty.Pursues continuing education regarding specialty procedures/supplies/equipment.Provides continuing education regarding specialty procedures/supplies/equipment.Maintains accurate preference cards.Ensures specialty instrument sets are complete and maintained in good working condition.Established collaborative relationships within Surgical Services (Supply Chain, OR Clinician, SPD) to meet the demands of continuously evolving services, procedures, equipment use, and instrument care.
Job Requirements:
1year Operating Room Experience with focus in Specialty of application.
Certi! fication preferred (CNOR/CST).
Ability to verbalize and! demonstrate: Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, techniques, standards of care, instrumentation, equipment and supplies as they directly correlate to the specialty.
