Temple, Waco, and Austin, TX. Community-Based Outpatient Clinics are located in
Brownwood, Cedar Park, Palestine, and Bryan-College Station.

DUTIES:
Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) is one of the
largest integrated health care systems in the Department of Veterans Affairs
and includes facilities in Temple, Waco, and Austin, TX.

Community-Based Outpatient Clinics are
located in Brownwood, Cedar Park, Palestine, and Bryan-College Station.

Primary anticipated duties would include:
Physician will be assigned to work in the Compensation and Pension Section.

Provider will provide examinations at our at our Temple site and DES Clinic on Fort Hood .

Compensation and Pension Physician performs disability evaluations, which include review of medical

records, obtaining his! tory and physical examinations of the veterans, and assimilation of lab and x-ray data.

Physician uses computerized medical records (CPRS) to order all appropriate lab and x-ray tests.

Physician is responsible for the completion of medical reports which includes dictating, editing, and finalizing.

These reports are provided to the Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) for determinations of service-connected disability and benefits.

In addition to clinical duties, incumbent will hold routine administrative responsibilities.

IF PATIENT NEEDS ARISE, THE INCUMBENT OF THE ABOVE POSITION MAY BE
REASSIGNED WITHIN THE CENTRAL TEXAS VETERANS HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

This is a Bargaining Unit position.

This position will be open until filled.

QUALIF! ICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREM

ENTS:
· !

Must be a citizen of the United States.

·

Must have a degree of doctor of
medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in
medicine or osteopathic medicine.

·

Must be proficient in spoken and
written English as required by 38 U.S.C 7402(d) and 7407(d).

·

Must have a full and unrestricted
license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth
of the United States or District of Columbia.

·

Must have completed a first-year
residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for
the year in which it was completed.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with VA C&P processes.

Board certification in a medical specialty.
