Medical Devices & Diagnostics (MD&D) Global Services, L.L.C., represents more than 60 manufacturing sites and 26,000 employees who plan, source, manufacture and deliver high-quality and cost-effective medical products to our customers around the globe each day. Work of the MD&D Supply Chain supports a multitude of product platforms, new products and delivery systems that are used in a wide range of procedures throughout the healthcare industry, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, minimally invasive surgery, hospital sterilization, clinical laboratory testing, diabetes management, joint replacement surgery and vision care.
The Facilities Engineer will plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Exercise judgment within defined ! procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Devi! se new approaches to problems encountered. Demonstrate full use and application of standard engineering principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Independently perform most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects. Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. Participate in decisions on scope of work, selection of equipment and length of tasks. Decide on design changes to meet revised specifications. Provide and develop solutions to problems of limited scope. Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice, but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and difficult coordination requirements. This work will require broad knowledge of precedents! in the specialty area (Facilities) and good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties. Technically supervise or coordinate the work of technicians and others who assist in specific tasks. Practice company safety, quality policies and procedures. Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance. Purchase or design of equipment that meets health, safety and environmental standards set by the company. Perform design reviews and pre-validation assessments to ensure the safe and environmentally sound start-up of new processes.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required. A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience is preferred. Medical Device industry experience is preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience working in a clean ! room environment is preferred. Facilities experience is preferred. Know! ledge of trades (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.) preferred. Knowledge of National Codes (Federal and State) preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred. Experience with Maximo is preferred. The ability to read and interpret blueprints is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills. The ability to collaborate with all levels of management in a cross-functional team environment is required. This position requires up to 10% travel.
