Job Description
Summary:
The
Surgical Tech III OR facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
R! esponsibilities:
Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile! drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies
Hands required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery
Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients
Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures
Coordinates performance improvement projects and continuing educational programs and may present information/results internally or externally
Performs other duties as assigned
May be required to be "on-call"
Education & Experience:
Associates degree in surgical technology or a related field is preferred
Three (3) consecutive years of full-time employment as a surgical technologist is required
Licenses & Certifications:
Current Certified Surgical Technologist designation by the National Board of Surgical Technology is require! d or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date
Current Certified Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date
